Welcome to the third video in our Vietnam series! In this video, we will be showing you everything to see and do in 48 hours in HANOI, VIETNAM! We are spending 3 weeks in this beautiful country and we are currently in the city of Hanoi! We have been completely submerged in the hustle and bustle of the city. Hanoi has so much to offer and in today’s video, we are going to be taking you around and showing you all of the do not miss, top sights! Our first stop was the Temple of Literature. There are 5 different courtyards to walk through and admire. and the city has done a lovely job of maintaining the grounds and the perfectly manicured gardens. We also made stops at the Hoa Lo Prison, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Trúc Bạch Lake, and so much more! One of our favorite stops was the Hanoi Train street! It’s a tiny narrow street surrounded by high narrow houses packed closely together. These families’ backyards are the railways where the train passes a few times per day. Ask the locals about the train schedule to get there for the best time! There is so much to see and do in Hanoi! Hopefully, this video will help you plan a wonderful itinerary in this beautiful city! This is our first time in Vietnam and we were shocked on our first day in Hanoi! Our initial expectation was to be overwhelmed by all the craziness we had only heard about. Quickly we realized that the streets of Hanoi are chaotic - but they are organized chaos. Aku ingin lihat salah satu tempat dengan mata dan menyentuh secara langsung dengan tanganku. (aku nggak bisa sebut nama tempatnya untuk menghindari spoiler berlebihan hahaha) 2. Penasaran sama orang lokalnya dan culturenya. Iya, bahkan aku nggak penasaran sama makanannya. Tunggu, ralat. Tentu aja, aku mau coba makanan Vietnam tapi itu bukan jadi poin utama. WHY? Karena aku mikirnya, “Pasti rasanya nggak terlalu jauh beda karena masih sama-sama Asia.” Hampir aja aku mau mewujudkan dan ngueng-ngueng ke sana. Tapi sayangnya udah kedatangan tamu tak diundang. (baca: Covid-19) Akhirnya aku harus mengurungkan niat bertahun-tahun. Sama halnya seperti Padang. Tapi gapapa. Segala sesuatu terjadi dengan maksud dan tujuannya masing-masing — yang nantinya akan indah pada waktunya. Dan ketika akhirnya bisa terlaksana, rasanya senang dan excitednya tuh berkali-kali lipat. Tau nggak, apa yang terjadi ketika aku duduk di dalam mobil online menuju hotel (dari airport)? Mata aku kayak ngeliat hal baru. Perasaan yang sama seperti ketika aku mendaratkan kaki dan melihat Ipoh. Perasaan dan pemandangan yang asing buat mata dan hati aku. Duh, gimana jelasinnya yah? 🤔💭 Aku langsung jatuh cinta sama Hanoi — bahkan sebelum aku explore banyak hal. Dan satu persatu rasa penasaran aku langsung terjawab di hari pertama — kecuali untuk poin nomor 1. Astaga. Orang-orangnya ramah banget. Mereka juga “nyantai” gitu loh. Meski ada kendala bahasa, tapi anehnya kami kayak ngerasa teman yang gak ada gap gitu. Terlebih resepsionis hotel yang helpful banget. Bahkan sampai hari ini, dia sering chat aku nanya kabar dan aku juga sering tanya dia tentang makanan Vietnam untuk informasi tambahan di dalam video. Dan untuk makanan gimana? Aku pun jatuh cinta! Jujur. Aku agak bangga sama Lidah Api yang ternyata global banget. Kalian jangan bilang-bilang dia yah. Takutnya dia malah GR. Oh! Ada lagi yang bikin aku senang. Ketika mereka tau asal aku dari Indonesia, mereka kaget dan bilang, “Ternyata orang Indonesia ramah dan welcome sekali ya?.” Tentu aja aku yang melihat ada kesempatan untuk berpromosi langsung bilang kalau sifat itu adalah bawaan kami sebagai orang Indonesia~ Ya, walaupun kenyataannya gak semua orang seperti itu hahaha. Tapi selagi ada kesempatan untuk memberi kesan baik dari pengalaman mereka berkomunikasi dengan aku — yang notabene orang Indonesia — ya kenapa gak? Kadang untuk mempromosikan Indonesia atau menunjukan rasa cinta kita akan negara ini, gak melulu diukur dari seberapa sering kita keliling Indonesia atau seberapa sering kita berteriak Indonesia. Lebih dari itu semua adalah bagaimana kita bisa membawa sikap dan tindakan yang mencerminkan Indonesia di mana pun kita berada. xoxo, RSW

To Chim Xanh Bluebirds' Nest Cafe is a charming cafe located in the Truc Bach neighborhood of Hanoi, Vietnam. The cafe is named after the Bluebirds' Nest, a type of bird found in the area. It is a popular spot among locals and tourists alike, and is known for its cozy and relaxing atmosphere. I was ambling through Truc Bach and wanted to find a place to sit and drink some tea. The decor of the cafe is simple yet elegant, with wooden tables and chairs, warm lighting, and plants adorning the space. There are also large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer a great view of the surrounding area. One of the unique features of this cafe is its outdoor seating area, which overlooks the balconies of the Hanoi residents around the cafe.
